2013 CADILLAC ATS
TECHNOLOGY APPLICATION AND SUPPLIER INTEGRATION
Pictured here is just one of the many examples of supplier integration success.
Regularly went beyond typical responsibilities to dive deeper into what our suppliers were capable of. Often times, their “build to print” role (what they bid on to get the business in the first place) was just a fraction of what they were capable of. I would dive deeper into what the supplier had shown in other OEMs and “offline” projects. I would then use their expertise to deliver MORE value towards the customer, while often decreasing costs in the process.
In the example shown here, the Cadillac ATS used 1 LED to illuminate the pull cup, the door trim lower and the map pocket. A simple part was designed (using supplier resources, no development cost to GM) tested and released that took 1 light source and distributed it into several different zones.
